_{Fascinated by the underbelly of society — the people living on the margins — I began making ‘mental notes’ of
people and the ‘language of their heads’ around Rotterdam Central Station.  In my studio, I turn these into portraits.
It is about painting the complexity of ‘head language’ (rather than body language) and the many ways in which
we reveal ourselves and communicate feelings with our head.}
